I have been the Learning Support Coordinator at Christ the King for the last two years.
I was born, and raised in the Southeast Portland Catholic schools. I was baptized, received my sacraments and attended school at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish (OLS). After OLS, I was in the third class of four year girls to graduate from Central Catholic High School where my love for science, math and my faith was nurtured.
Upon graduation from CC, I followed my family tradition to the University of Portland. I graduated from the University with a double major in Accounting and Business Computer Systems. I realized that God was calling me to be a Catholic school teacher. I returned to the University of Portland to earn a Masters in Education. It was the best decision I ever made!
I did my student teaching at St. Stephen’s where I worked with grades 3 through 8. After St. Stephen’s, I went on to teach at the Cathedral, All Saints, Saint John the Apostle and La Salle Catholic College Preparatory. Some summers I teach geometry at Central Catholic. During my 25 year career of teaching in our Catholic schools, I have taught students from third grade through juniors in high school.
While I freely admit to being addicted to college football, (Go Navy, Go Beavs) I love most sports. I enjoy trivia and love game night with friends. Among my other favorite things are the works of Tolkien and Steinbeck, artwork of Monet, O'keeffe, Chrles Schultz and the photography of Ansel Adams.
