Hello to all! My name is Lori Corrigan, and I am the Assistant to the Learning Specialist. I am so excited to be teaching and supporting the students at Christ the King. I graduated from Portland State University. I worked in Public Relations before I knew that I was passionate about working in the field of education to assist and teach lifelong learning strategies in reading and writing. I am dedicated to encouraging students in their academic journeys and accomplishments.
I feel blessed to be a part of the amazing team of educators and Christ the King community to support the children in their learning of reading and writing and to help guide them in achieving their academic goals, hopes, and dreams, while remembering that God is by their side every step of the way. In my previous primary school work experience and in tutoring, I have had many opportunities to apply my knowledge in reading and writing intervention with students, and to guide them in having a growth mindset. I am dedicated to supporting students in reaching their academic goals with perseverance, confidence, success, and faith. Literacy is such an important part in building other life skills. I enjoy encouraging a love for reading and writing!
I love to spend time with my family, run, cook, camp, read, and ballet dance. As a child and teen, I was a ballerina - which continues to be another passion of mine. I was once a Classical Ballet and Creative Movement Teacher and taught ballet to aspiring little ballerinas. I am so grateful for all of the opportunities that I have had in my life to make a difference in a child’s life, to watch them grow and build confidence in their reading and writing skills, and to believe in themselves to achieve their own academic goals and fulfill their hopes and dreams in life.
