TRAINING: Bachelor of Arts from Benedictine College (double major in Mathematics and Education), Oregon teaching license (Advanced Mathematics Endorsement)
CONFIRMATION SAINT: St. Therese of Lisieux is both my Confirmation Saint and my favorite Saint. :) She encourages me to do everything I do, even the smallest things, for love of God. She reminds me that everything (everything!) is grace. I grew even closer to St. Therese after visiting Lisieux during college.
MORE ABOUT ME: I was born and raised in Portland (Hillsboro/Beaverton) and am the second oldest of five siblings (who are currently spread across the U.S.). Two of the best decisions I’ve made in life have been to attend Benedictine College and to give religious life a shot. Besides teaching, things that give me joy are singing, jogging, baking, camping, and spending time with friends and family. . . and eating dark chocolate.
WHY I CHOOSE TO TEACH AT CTK: Not only am I able to do what I love here – teach middle school math and help students grow in their confidence and love of learning – I’m able to do it with a fantastic, supportive staff, within a vibrantly Catholic community!
