Mr. Alexander McCune

Alexander is a performer and teacher with a wide musical background. Sacred music is his passion, and he specializes in choral training for children and adults. Alex has many years of experience leading singers and other musicians, and plays the pipe organ and the piano.

Born in Edmonton, Alex played the piano and sang in excellent choirs for children and youth, touring Germany and Wales as a teenager for international choral competitions. He studied Catholic theology and sacred music at Seat of Wisdom College in Ontario, Canada, and finished his undergraduate degree through Trinity Western University in British Columbia. He moved with his wife and two children to Milwaukie in July, 2021.

Alexander believes deeply in the inherent dignity of every young musician, and encourages all children to learn about their faith and participate more fully in our liturgy. He hopes to build a familiarity and love for sacred music at Mass, while also learning and playing many other styles of music in the classroom.
