During Lent, we are called to a “true inner conversion of heart as we seek to follow Christ’s will more fully” (USCCB). It was His will that brought me to Milwaukie in the summer of 2019 to lead Christ the King Parish School on a journey of school renewal through Catholic Liberal education. Along with the school renewal, I experienced a personal renewal of my faith through deep healing, conversion and trust in Him. It is in this trust that I announce that I will be stepping away from my position as principal at Christ the King at the end of this school year.
I am eternally grateful to Msgr. Cihak, my Principal’s Advisory Committee and all of our faculty staff. It has been a beautiful mission and journey together of friendship and discipleship. After a lengthy process of prayer and discernment, I am confident that the Lord is calling me to the next mission He has for my life, and to that call I must respond.
To you, our school families, thank you for the honor of partnering with you to educate your children in the faith and for your support and encouragement these past 7 years. And thank you to our Christ the King parishioners for your example and guidance and for walking with me in faith.
I will work to ensure everything is in place for a very successful 2026-2027, and at the end of June, will hand the reins to the next leader the Lord has chosen for Christ the King Parish School.
In Christ the King,
Sarah Taber, Principal
