The goal of our Art program is to give students confidence and comfort working with the visual arts - painting, printmaking, collage, sculpture, and photography. Most lessons are based on art from a specific culture, style, or historic artist.
Students will look at art throughout history, from Ancient Greece to the Renaissance, with special emphasis on modern art. They will study Cubism and Impressionism, Pointillism and Pop Art.
We teach about the Church’s importance in art through the years, and about Jesus Christ as one of the most prolific subjects in all of art history.
Our year is capped off with the annual CTK Art Show. Students submit their own artwork for display and vote on their favorites. Then, on Very Special Persons Day, we invite our friends and families to come and see the art. It is a spectacular finale to a year of beautiful work!
