Mrs. Selena Borne - firstname.lastname@example.org
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are so fortunate to have the school community that we do! I have really been grateful as I look at the culture of CTK!
This school year marks the start of my second full year as the school counselor. It was last February... my one-year mark at Christ the King, that I felt a shift. I knew I was really part of the student’s life, and that they were starting to piece together what a school counselor does.
I want to take the time to educate our community on what the counseling program looks like while I continue to build and form what it will be at CTK. I follow The American School Counselor Associations National Model as my guiding platform. You may read more about what that is here:
The model is intensive for our school culture, but essentially what is important are three main components: classroom guidance lessons, counseling small groups, and individual student support. To meet these standards I will be teaching all grade levels every other week. I will be providing smalls groups (topics cover such things as sisterhood, leadership, friendship, grief & loss, impulse control, and divorce groups to name a few that I can offer). Lastly, I provide Individual support to students. This can be social/emotional or academic.
I will continue to write in the newsletter to give updates and resources to parents. Please always feel free to contact me with anything that you may need. I am here to support you and your children and I look forward to partnering in their education.
This year at CTK I will work Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. My hours are 9:30-2:30. You may reach me at email@example.com.
I look forward to meeting you if I have not already! Warmly, Selena Borne
